San Luis Obispo is a wonderful Central Coast town and has essentially become my home away from home. I know how difficult it can be to find housing in SLO once you move out of the dorms, but I am here to hopefully alleviate some of your stress!
My name is Kaylee— I am a first year journalism student at Cal Poly. A few months ago, my friends (and future roommates) and I were faced with the challenge of finding a place to live for next year. Since we hoped to live off-campus, we needed to find a property suited for all of us— one we could agree on in terms of price, location, and amenities.
I took the lead in the hunt for our home and it proved successful. We are each so excited to live in our apartment next year!
Through this blog I will reveal the multitude of possible options in which students are able to live after their first year of college. From Poly Canyon Village (PCV) to off-campus, second-year apartments and then upperclassmen houses, there are endless opportunities. Also something to consider are greek main houses as well as satellite houses if you are a part of a greek organization. If you want to study, party, be close to or far away from campus, there is the right place for you somewhere in SLO.
Whatever you choose, there are bound to be great experiences and memories to be made when living on your own with your friends and roommates.
